The Niagara Falls Centre is comprised of the City’s first 25 meter indoor aquatics centre, a double gymnasium and five additional self-contained programmable spaces, all connected by a “T” shaped main hall. The floor plan is an innovative and original, it is designed to allow access to all spaces for large community events, sporting events, and conferences, yet uniquely versatile. Each of the five programs spaces, complete with its own kitchenette and washrooms can be secured and utilized independently for specialized programs.
The main activity centre (Hub) is comprised of a 1,500 sq. ft. program space with direct access to a dividable double classroom (Classroom A and B), an arts and crafts studio and a computer lab with its own set of washrooms and kitchenette if required. The space is secured by door locks with a security entrance that leads to the program space through a cloak room to accommodate 150 children’s coats, boots and back packs. The large central program area is primarily used as a dining area, with opportunity for additional activities including open play space, classroom and community gatherings.
The double gymnasium is outfitted with a sprung hardwood floor and automated movable curtain divider. Designed to host regulation basketball. The large mezzanine accessible by both stairs and accessible elevator can be opened for viewing when required.
Typical of a Boys and Girls Club facility, The Studio space was designed as a dedicated Teen Centre. The audio visual studio is equipped with three separate spaces including a kitchenette and a multi-purpose meeting/program area, a sound proof editing room and an additional audio visual work space. The space is served by two accessible washrooms steps down the hall.
Accessible by stairs or accessible elevator, the mezzanine is comprised of a large multipurpose room with viewing to the gymnasium, a pool viewing room with accessible viewing space, accessible washrooms and kitchenette and a sizable balcony overlooking the foyer. The main activity room has floor to ceiling glass to allow unobstructed view of the gymnasium.
Two multipurpose meeting rooms, washroom and kitchenettes facilities. The meeting rooms are available to the general public. The space serves as the corporate offices for the four centres and nine satellite locations operated by the Boys and Girls Club of Niagara
Niagara Falls' first 25 metre 6 lane competitive indoor pool, it also has a beach entry for accessible access, including water wheel chairs leading to a shallow teaching area. It features a non-slip smooth textured floor consisting of soft closed-cell foam mattress which makes movement in the water more comfortable and safe. The pool is supported by three change rooms, male, female and family outfitted with washrooms, family change cubicles, lockers, change areas and showers. An additional fourth accessible change room is available for those with varying abilities. For maximum privacy of vulnerable participants, viewing can be restricted to a lockable area which can be opened at appropriate times.
