We are deeply saddened to learn of the recent passing of Bob Burger, former Executive Director of BGCN. We're grateful for the meaningful contributions he made to our organization and look fondly on his many years of leadership. As we reflect on Bob's time with us, we remember him for his tremendous commitment to community engagement and program development, as well as his unwavering support for Niagara's children and youth. In 1973, Bob became the organization's first Outreach Worker and, after serving as the Executive Director for the Boys & Girls Club of Lindsay, he returned to Niagara to become our organization's fourth serving Executive Director. During his time as Executive Director of BGCN, he endeavoured to serve disadvantaged children and youth in the Niagara Region and empower them to reach their full potential. His mission and dedication to serving the Niagara Region were keenly felt by the many staff, volunteers, and children whose lives were impacted by his leadership, as well as the positivity and enthusiasm he brought to his position. Founder of F.R.I.E.N.D.S., a program for individuals with varying disabilities and a passionate and compelling champion for our organization, he will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for the indelible mark he has made on our Clubs, as well as the legacy of strong leadership he has left behind. We would like to extend our sincerest sympathies to his family - our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.
